I took my WRX in for an oil leak that was discovered during the car's scheduled service. It turns out I need a new turbo charger now!
It's all covered under warranty, of course, but that still doesn't help the fact that I'm stuck with this rental Hyundai Elantra that smells like dirty laundry for the longer than I thought I would.
Speaking of which, tomorrow I'm going to drive up to Enterprise to cancel the warranty seeing as how I'll be keeping the car for 5 days rather than 2, and I don't want to pay $55. While I'm there can I exchange the car for another? They have a Fiat 500, and I want to test one out.
I want to see if driving one puts as big of a smile as seeing one on the road. It's not like I'll be trading my car in for something fancier.
It shouldn't be an issue, right?

Where was the oil leak? I'm assuming the feed to the turbo or the return line?

Dont know if this happened here but There are two small filters that are hard as hell to get to and somehow inline with the turbo. They gum and starve the turbo for oil in as little as 80k miles.

If you drive a WRX you're going to think the automatic 500 is really gutless...it still might put a smile on your face though.

The 500 is a blast, even in Pop trim.
Don't judge the automatic to hard. The manual is really only way to go in that car.
Did you know it's lighter than a Miata? ;)

That's what I was thinking. All I was told was that the car was getting a new "turbo unit".
